My prayer for the “Prodigal”
UncategorizedLeave a comment

One of the saddest things I’ve seen so often is people who love God so much that they stay away from Him because of their sin. I am moved by people who love God with all their heart but feel that the best thing they can do for God, out of respect for Him is to “stay out of His way”, because of they miss it very often. I have been that person.

Today I’m praying for you who believes in Jesus in your heart, but you’ve missed it so many times that you feel the need to stay away from any place where He is talked about. You love Him so much that you feel you are contaminating the place where He is exalted. So you stay away. To be honest, a lot of the time church folk don’t help!!

I pray that you realise that He gave everything when you had nothing to offer Him. I pray that you realise that He doesn’t love you because you are always good, but because HE is ALWAYS good.

I pray that just as you are convinced that He sees your mistakes, you will also be convinced that He is ALWAYS your answer & your helper in ALL things! I pray that you will see & hear him more than you see & hear the voice of condemnation.

Today I pray that you find the courage to SPRINT towards HIM…EVERYTIME!

LUKE 15:22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. 23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate.24 For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.

Father to the Fatherless
UncategorizedLeave a comment

Paslm 68:5 A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.6 God sets the lonely in families,[c] he leads out the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.

One recent report on families in the UK suggested that a quarter of all families with dependent children are headed by a single parent, in the vast majority of cases, the mother. Probably more than ever we live in a generation that is growing up without the influence of a father. As a pastor I have found that this is one reason why a lot of people struggle with receiving God as a father, simply because there is no natural reference point to help understand the concept of a father’s love.

Today I am praying for everyone who did or does not have the influence of a father in their life. I pray that you will see that because of what Jesus did, we have been adopted into the family of God. The bible says we received the spirit of adoption when when we believed in Jesus (Galatians 4:6). This profound demonstration of God’s grace is the reason you don’t have to be fearful! You are not destitute. You are not an orphan. God loves you the same way that He loves Jesus. Just like it is inconcievable for a mother to abandon her child, and inconcievable for God to abandon His son Jesus, YOU WILL NEVER BE ABANDONED BY GOD BECAUSE OF JESUS! NOTHING WILL separate you from the LOVE of God for you.

For every wound that has been inflicted because of your experience of fatherhood, I pray that you see that bitterness, unforgiveness, anger is not the only option. There is a balm in gilead. Through Jesus, it is possible to break free from all those negative emotions that stem out of your wounds. As you look to Jesus, as you investigate His character and nature, I believe you will experience supernatural healing for those hurts!

I pray for every father, that God will help you be who you need to be to your children. If you have not been involved in your biological children’s life, I pray that God intervenes in your situation, and that he makes all things possible. I pray that you will see that He is your helper. With Him you can leap over a wall! With Him you can be the best father that you can be today.

I pray for every man, that you will have the courage, the boldness to be a father to somebody. That you will be a reference point for the fatherless, who are hearing the message of the one who is the father to the fatherless.

Perfectly Forgiven
UncategorizedLeave a comment

Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven! (Matthew 18:21, 22 NLT)

The beauty about this scripture is not just in the kind of person we are moulded into as we forgive relentlessly every time…I believe it’s more in the fact that Jesus will never ask you to do something that He hasn’t already done.

You are deeply loved & PERFECTLY forgiven.

Live with a mindset that you have been perfectly forgiven by God through Jesus.

SIN OR GRACE? YOUR CHOICE!
UncategorizedLeave a comment

(Romans 5:20 AMP) – But then Law came in, [only] to expand and increase the trespass [making it more apparent and exciting opposition]. But where sin increased and abounded, grace (God’s unmerited favor) has surpassed it and increased the more and superabounded,

What an amazing statement. The New Living Translation put it this way…

Romans 5:20 NLT-God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant.

The truth is that in every place where you find sin, you will also find grace! If you find sin in a person, a community, a nation, the above scripture implies that in this era that we live in, you will also find grace. The beauty is that the grace is always greater than the sin! GOD HAS MORE GRACE THAN YOU CAN EVER HAVE SIN!

The question we have to answer is this; what will our focus be? What will we choose to see in people, in our community or in our nation? Will you choose to see SIN or will you choose to see GRACE? Where there sin in abundance, there is grace even more abundantly! In fact if you read Romans 5:21 it says that under the old law (which the bible describes as death) Sin reigned…sin ruled…sin had the last word in the matter. Today things are different…grace now reigns! Grace rules! Grace has the last Word on every matter!

In your life and in the life of others, will you refer to what the Grace of God is saying or will you refer to what Sin is saying?

Don’t be that person who gives sin the final word in your life, or in the life of others. Don’t conclude the matter in your life on the basis of what the sin is saying. Grace has the final say! Grace rules! Ask grace!

If we allow grace to have the final Word…Everytime, Titus 2 tells us that the grace of God will train you to say no to sin, to ungodliness!

For the grace of God (His unmerited favor and blessing) has come forward (appeared) for the deliverance from sin and the eternal salvation for all mankind. It has trained us to reject and renounce all ungodliness (irreligion) and worldly (passionate) desires, to live discreet (temperate, self-controlled), upright, devout (spiritually whole) lives in this present world, (Titus 2:11, 12 AMP)

When we focus on grace, it doesn’t mean that we don’t acknowledge the power of sin…it means that we more confident in the power of grace…after all, right now…grace rules!!

Live a grace focused life!!

Grace be with you

Draw a line in the sand!
UncategorizedLeave a comment

Psalm 36:7 – How priceless is your unfailing love! Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of your wings.

I believe that the most precious truth we can ever discover is the truth that God loves us with a love that does not fail! It’s a love that does not depend on what you did or didn’t do. It’s a love that does not need you to perform in order to qualify. This love is so deep and so great that even before we were born, He (JESUS) gave His life for us. Even though he knew you might not believe that He did die for you, he was not phased, He went ahead, suffered & died anyway!

Even today, because of His love, He raises people from every nation, every language to go to great lengths to tell of His love for us. In every generation, He has ensured that somebody is describing His love! Here is the truth…the highest form of reality…YOU ARE DEEPLY LOVED!

Isaiah 43:25 – “I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.

Here is another precious truth, this God who is all powerful and all knowing, this God who has the first Word and the last Word in any matter (big or small)…He has nothing against you! Absolutely nothing! It’s not that we have not done things that offend Him, but because of His deep love, He overlooks the things we have done wrong and He does not keep a record of our sins! This is the truth…YOU ARE COMPLETELY FORGIVEN!

Whosoever accepts the truth that you are deeply loved & completely forgiven will find a place of safety in under the wings of this great God (Psalm 36:7b …both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of your wings.) When you accept this truth you’ll begin to realise that because God is for you, who is it that dares be against you? What situation, what circumstance dare harass you?

Dear friend, the truth is that you are deeply loved & completely forgiven by the highest authority in all the universe! Based on these truths I have chosen to draw a line in the sand! I’ve refused to be harassed by inferiority or limitations. I refuse to live a half life. I refuse to accept condemnation or guilt. I choose to expect the best in my relationships, finances, walk with God etc, because I am deeply loved & completely forgiven by the only One that truly counts!

On the basis of this truth, go ahead friend, DRAW A LINE IN THE SAND! No more harassment from the enemy!

Chido
