Worst case scenario – Beat that bully
LeadershipLeave a comment

Ester 4:16

Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast for me; and neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. I also and my maids will fast as you do. Then I will go to the king, though it is against the law; and if I perish, I perish. (Esther 4:16 AMP)

We will never really see the power of God in its full effect if we do not take action on the Word of God which is the seed for experiencing the power of God. The providence of God is acted out when you act!

One key reason we often don’t act on the word is the fear of failing. I know I struggle with that one! I hate failing so much that on many occasions I didn’t try. What if it goes wrong? What if it doesn’t work? What if I make a fool of myself? What if I mess it all up?

I have come to realise that if we will see the manifestation of what God says we can become, we will need to come to the place where you say if I PERISH, I PERISH! We would need to come to the place where the we look the worst case scenario in the eye, and choose to defy it!

The worst case scenario is like a bully. It stares you down on the play ground of life. It taunts you and challenges your courageous advances. But once you choose to look the worst case scenario in the eye and authentically communicate to it that you are no longer afraid of what happens if “it” happen – IF I PERISH, I PERISH – you will be free from that bully. And equipped to truly act on that Word!

Hey, what do you want? The life you have now or the life you are dreaming of? Action is the vehicle that transports you from where you are to where you want to be. Act now! Every time you procrastinate on taking an action because of some area of uncertainty, what you are choose your current location over what I see in my dreams!

The best thing about action for the believer is that it is not by power or by might but by the Spirit of God! God’s Spirit will support you incredibly every time you act on Gods Word!

Stop preparing to act. Just act!

2 Kings 7:3 Now there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate; and they said to one another, “Why are we sitting here until we die? If we say, ‘We will enter the city,’ the famine is in the city, and we shall die there. And if we sit here, we die also. Now therefore, come, let us surrender to the army of the Syrians. If they keep us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall only die.”

There comes a point in your life when you will need to make a decision about your current state. We can’t afford to stay in a place of indecision or to live an un-examined life. These guys where stuck between a rock and a hard place, and they had to make a decision. Our decisions are the door way to our future.

Unfortunately most of us don’t move because of the fear of the unknown. Forget the unknown for a second…what do you know? What do you know about going back? what do you know about staying where you are? what do you know about going forward? Often times, just like the lepers at the gate the only place where there is a possibility of the life you want is in going forward.

Yes there are so many unknowns in the future, but are you really ready to live with what you know about where you came from and where you presently are? See what happened when these guys decided to move in the direction of possibility:

And they rose at twilight to go to the camp of the Syrians; and when they had come to the outskirts of the Syrian camp, to their surprise no one was there. For the Lord had caused the army of the Syrians to hear the noise of chariots and the noise of horses—the noise of a great army; so they said to one another, “Look, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of the Egyptians to attack us!” Therefore they arose and fled at twilight, and left the camp intact—their tents, their horses, and their donkeys—and they fled for their lives.

Notice that these guys made a decision to step out at TWILIGHT, when they honored that decision…when they showed enough commitment to the decision by actually stepping out, God caused the enemy to run out at TWILIGHT

When we choose to step out, when we stop preparing to act and taking courses about acting and praying about acting, God moves stuff around in our future. On the TWILIGHT that you choose to act on God’s Word in spite of the unknowns, God is disarming any enemy that might be in you place of blessing.

I pray that you receive the grace to act now. I pray that you go far enough into the enemy territory to see that the victory that God has prepared for you.
