PUT ON YOUR FIGHTING FACE!

(MY FIGHTING FACE!)

People who train you in health and safety often advice that before you lift a load, you need to first evaluate the load to see if you can lift it by yourself or if you need help. In life we always face various situations in which we are consciously or unconsciously evaluating what we face and trying to make a decision on whether we are able to tackle the situation by our strength or if we will need help.

Fear sets in when upon evaluation of the load that HAS to move, you find that you don’t have strength equal to the task ahead. This is where you still need a job, but feel you can’t stand another rejection! You still need to be made well, but you can’t stand hoping for a better report this time. You still want a good relationship, but you don’t have the strength to be vulnerable enough to trust again. You want a first class degree but you can’t stand the possibility of failing your exams.

At this point, you can either step sideways or backwards onto another load that you feel your strength can handle, or you step up to the task ahead of you in spite of the disparity between your strength and the strength of what you face. I recommend the later, because the former is a GUARANTEED PATH TO MEDIOCRITY! I recommend you put on your fighting face…not the cute one…the ugly one that comes by default when you mean business…Yeah that one…put it on and step up to the plate!

I believe in God. If you are willing to consider that He is God, He has made some pretty awesome promises to be your helper. He even backed this promise up with a covenant! Check out the following passages from the bible:

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. (Isaiah 40:28, 29 NKJV)

Not only is He the God who gives you strength when you are weakened by what you face, He has also promised to always be with you ; Hebrews 13:5 – Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Today, you can step up to the plate, put on your fighting face and say BOLDLY “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” (Hebrews 13:6 NKJV)

STEP UP! WITH GOD, THERE IS NOTHING MEDIOCRE ABOUT YOU. WALK TOWARDS THAT THING KNOWING THAT THE LORD IS YOUR HELLPER!
