Love Never Fails. NEVER!
FaithLeave a comment

People of faith are often so mesmerised by the prophetic gift, the ability to pray in unknown tongues and have special knowledge.

As great and as powerful these things are, they are no where near as powerful as LOVE. Love is so powerful that it is eternal. Think about that for a second.

Prophecies, tongues & knowledge are all tools given because man fell really low in Adam and needed help to hear from God. They will pass away. They fail.

“Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever! Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture!” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭13:8-9‬ ‭NLT‬

But love, Love is the power behind creation. Love is the power behind redemption. Love is the power that makes eternity worth looking forward to.

If you had to choose between giving or receiving prophecy, special knowledge, tongues & love, Choose love. Choose not envying, not holding records of wrongs, choose always believing, choose not being rude, choose not being boastful…that’s what Loving looks like. To choose love is to choose loving. (Read 1 Corinthians 13)

If you’re looking for power to change your relationship, to heal your family, to heal past hurts, before you go chasing after the latest prophet in town, or paying for special prayers, try love. Love is more powerful than any prophetic word you can give or receive.

Don’t under estimate the profound and eternal power in the affection of authentic love that worked out through simple acts of kindness, generosity, niceness, faith & hope. Even when you don’t have a prophetic word, can’t pray in tongues or have a word of knowledge, you’ll always have the ability love and someone to receive your loving.

Love Never Fails. NEVER!!

Here is another choice we must make as we travel through life. Click here to read about the first choice we all need to make

  1. Choose God over His goodness/glory. Choose to make God the object of your affections.

As we travel through life we will be faced with a choice between the goodness of God and God Himself.

In Exodus 33 we have a scenario where Moses has a huge choice to make. A choice that all of us will have to make several times in our life. A choice between the goodness of God and God!

God tells Moses in Exodus 33:1-3 that He will send His angel along with Moses to the promised land. Moses is right on the cusp of having all of the promises of God manifest in his life…imagine being in the place where everything you’ve believed for  is being supplied by God in a moment! Imagine being in a place where everything you’ve fasted and prayed for, everything you’ve cried before God is about to be manifested! Moses was about to get it all! All but the presence of God… and He says I don’t want any of that but you!

You see, in every human being, there is a desperate desire for the goodness of God, or the glory of God, because we were built to live by God’s goodness. So there is a strong possibility that we begin to make the glory the object of our pursuit!

In John 7 Jesus says is anyone thirsty, here is what you need to do…come to me…and then drink! When you are thirsty, it is possible to make water the object of your pursuit! His invitation was an invitation to Himself!

If we are going to end up in “destination Glory” as God has originally planned for us, HE NEEDS TO BE THE OBJECT OF OUR PURSUIT!

It’s time to go after God! Moses says if I have found favour in your sight, let your presence go with me. The presence of things does not always equal evidence of the presence of God. MOses understood this and rejected everything that God was about to give him, because He understood that the favour of God in the life of a person is not about what they have, it about who they have with them!

Exodus 33:15 Then he said to Him, “If Your presence does not go with us, do not lead us up from here. 16“For how then can it be known that I have found favor in Your sight, I and Your people? Is it not by Your going with us, so that we, I and Your people, may be distinguished from all the other people who are upon the face of the earth?”

Genesis 39:1-3 – Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. And Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him down there. The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all he did to prosper in his hand.

It is the presence of God with you that prospers you. It is the presence of God with you that will prosper you! If you have a choice between God and His glory, Choose GOD! If you have a choice between money and God, choose God! Friends and God, Choose God

When you make God the subject and object of your affection, the glory…the manifested goodness of God will follow. To do anything but that will leave you short changed.

The thing that sets us apart from the world is the person! Emmanuel. God with you!

Life is a journey. Life is a path that we walk, it has twists, turns, surprises, sceneries, experiences…that’s life.

In my travels driving around the United Kingdom with the gospel, one of the journeys I find most fascinating is driving to wales, because you come across, some places on the road that are wide, and well lit up. But you also come across some dingy places. I remember stopping for petrol one or two times somewhere in one dark valley that I felt, this might be where I die…it just like some something out of a horror movie!

As you journey through life, you will often find yourself in a twist or a turn or a dingy valley. Please don’t write yourself off. Life is a journey! This is not your final stop! If you are still breathing please know that you have hope!

But the thing that determines whether or not we end up at the intended destination, glory or manifested goodness, depends so much on our choices.

So I want to present you with certain choices that those of us (that’s all of us) with a glorious destiny have to make as we journey through life.

  1. Choose to believe that God is with you ALWAYS.

God’s proximity to you is the reason His glory will be seen on you. Even if you are in the deepest darkest pit of your life, please know that God is with you, and because He is with you, HIS GLORY WILL BE SEEN ON YOU.

In Romans 6, the bible says that Jesus was raised from the dead by the glory of God. The glory of God was present with Jesus even in the grave because God was present with Him, even in the grave!

God is with you everywhere, and His glory with produce glory in your life.

The moment we start to doubt God’s abiding presence with us, fig leaves start to look like a good option for that nakedness we feel! Fake answers start to look real.

God is with you, always, when you feel it and when you don’t. When you are behaving yourself and when you’re not. It is not me that determines if God is with you. It is not the Pastor, the deacon or the brethren that determines if God is with you…HE HIMSELF HAS SAID, I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU OR FORSAKE YOU!

If you will stay on the path to your glorious destiny, choose to believe that your destiny is glorious because your closest life companion is GLORIOUS!

When Jesus was leaving in Matthew 28, the last words he said to us was Lo, I am with you. What differenc do you think it would make in your life, if you chose to truly believe that God is with you?

I will share 2 others important choices with you this week. Look out for those!

YOU ARE ON GOD’S MIND! GOD is mindful of you and I! That means that you are constantly on His mind. I mean you! He knows you by name!
Psalms 8:4 – What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him?)
Something happens to you when your parents or your spouse just calls to say; “wanted to let you know that you’re on my mind” GOD IS THINKING OF YOU…YOU ARE ON HIS MIND!!
One of the common questions I hear from people who are dealing with suicidal thoughts is this: “If I’m not here, will any body notice?”
A lot of people give up at this point where you feel that you are your own responsibility. You give up when it feels like at the point of your challenge, at the point of your trial, no one is there to even help you by way of crying with you or listening to you!
Today The Lord wants me to let you know that YOU ARE ON HIS MIND!
Sometimes life throws certain things at you that you can’t articulate! Life throws certain things at you that you don’t feel you can share with those closest to you.
I think the best thing about God being mindful of you is that He is already working on your behalf! We know this because Jeremiah 29:11 says His thoughts of us are good, they are of plans to give us a hope and a future!
He is already on the case with the unarticulated desires of your heart! He already has measures in place to respond the things that have, are and will harass you.
2 things happen when we accept this truth:
1- We stop being preoccupied with surviving and we can get proactive and creative because God has given us a head start
2- We become more conscious of our world. It is the need for self preservation that makes us think only of ourselves and our needs. But when you truly believe that God is on your case, you receive the equity needed to look out for others even when it is evident that you have your own needs!

4 places to find strength
FaithLeave a comment

[wpvideo Q9vDI4UQ ]

Ultimately, strength is found in Christ. We are strong in Him. Here are some practical ways to find the strength available Him.

1. The Bible: when I read the bible, I see so many people who have endured worse things than me! I find strength in bible accounts. Sometimes I find strength in remembering that no matter how tough things get in life/ministry, 40 men have not vowed to go on a hunger strike until they kill me! The did that to a guy called Paul in the bible.

2. Remembering: when you take time to remember where you came from, you will find strength in seeing how far God has brought you. You won’t be the first person He abandons! You might even find that your current challenge is evidence that you’ve been promoted!

3. A good preacher: I know I’m biased here, but I believe in good bible preaching! I’m not talking about hype, I’m talking about a preacher who is more confident in God’s Word than they are in your problems. When you subject yourself to the foolishness of preaching, you will find strength!

4. Good friends: God is so gracious that He will never leave you without encouragement from people. A tweet, a conversation, a video, a smile, an acknowledgement…open yourself up to finding strength anywhere!

There’s more ways, but I’d like to hear it from you. Where do you find strength? Comment below!
